The Role: 

As an Intermediate Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process for equipment across multiple projects. You will be responsible for preparing and issuing Material Requisition (MR) packages, coordinating technical and commercial bid evaluations, and ensuring timely delivery of equipment. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.

Areas of Accountability:

  • Material Requisitions (MR) Packages: Prepare and issue MR packages to vendors, ensuring all technical and commercial requirements are clearly defined.

  • Bid Management: Coordinate the bidding process including follow up with vendors on bid deadlines, manage clarification logs, and ensure all technical bid evaluations (TBEs) are coordinated and completed accurately.

  • Vendor Coordination: Set up meetings with vendors for bid clarifications, manage communications, and facilitate the resolution of any technical or commercial issues.

  • Commercial Review: Review and assess commercial terms, add relevant terms to MR packages, and ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Contract Negotiations: Work with Client and Owners teams to negotiate contracts for goods and services

  • Expediting: Track and expedite equipment deliveries, coordinating closely with vendors to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Tracking and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of equipment procurement, including tracking progress, updating stakeholders, and ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and project management teams to ensure alignment on technical and commercial aspects of procurement.

Qualification Requirements: 

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the engineering, construction, or manufacturing sectors.  Preference to those with an ability to demonstrate a level of technical understanding to support the requests.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.  Formal education is not required if a sufficient amount of career experience is demonstrated .

  • Skills: Strong understanding of procurement processes, excellent negotiation and communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to work within a multidiscipline team.

  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
